Pray

Something to think about.

25 Brothers, pray for us. 1 Thessalonians 5:25

For my brothers and sister in Christ. Tom, Migdalia, Michele, Oliver, Maria, and Latanya. I pray that you know that God is with you. He is with you everywhere you go. I pray you are comforted in knowing that God is fully committed to you. That he has bestowed upon you incredible gifts and abilities that He wants to bring to fruition and completion. I pray for you that the blessings that are unique to you will be fully developed for your joy and Gods glory.  I pray the presence of the almighty go with you and bless you coming in and going out. I pray you will be blessed in all you do and in all you touch.  I ask God to bless and protect your spouses’, children, grandchildren, and families. I pray God would make himself known to all those you love. I pray you know the Love of God in everyday situations. I ask God to bless you physically, spiritually, emotionally, intellectually in every way. That He would shower you with blessings

I pray that you would allow God to hold you, love you, protect you and provide for you, for He truly is a good father. More than anything else I ask God to give you the power to walk in Faith. To step out into the unknown knowing that God has already gone before you making a way for you. I thank God for you for you, you are a missing part of my life. I thank you for your help wisdom, love, and guidance. You have all changed my life in ways you will never know. I love and appreciate every one of you and am extremely grateful for all you have deposited into my life. I thank God that he has brought us together to accomplish what He has laid out before us. I thank God for allowing us to attained the highest rank under Gods kingdom, that of a servant. God loves you, He always has and always will.

20 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, 21 to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen. Ephesians 3:20-21 (NKJV)

Wisdom

8“ For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. 9“ As the heavens are higher than the earth,so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.’ Isaiah 55:8-9

Through Isaiah God is making a distinction between His creation and Him. It’s a distinction that appears to have been lost by man. We are not God’s equals. We don’t know what He knows. We will never attain that place. If for an instant we would stop and look at our existence and be honest with our selves. We would admit we know nothing. The universe is beyond our comprehension. We sit on this small insignificant rock floating in a vast universe and claim we know where we came from. Some of us claim we self-created which makes absolutely no sense.

Because of the size of the universe, the known universe there are important facts that have not been discovered. We barely coexist. We are fighting the same battles for the same reasons. Technology changes but we are still fighting the same wars. Generation after generation after generation the wars continue. We can’t permanently solve any issue. The more we learn the more our ineptitude is exposed.

We may be more comfortable more affluent, but still the most heinous of crimes exist. Slavery, starvation, famine, injustice, these crimes are the hallmark of our societies. If the product is the proof of our superiority, intellect, and industriousness we have proven our selves to be savages. Affluence and wealth only hide the stench of ignorance. If we were truly wise, the crimes we perpetuate, create and support would not exist.

Our ways are not His ways, our thoughts are not His thoughts, our wisdom is not His wisdom. God, the creator of the universe is so much more than we can imagine. If I have any wisdom, it is this, the God who created the universe and humanity is superior to His creation.

Modern Man

Something to think about.

Modern Man

21 For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Claiming to be wise, they became fools, 23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds and animals and creeping things. Romans 1:21-23

Modern man will not worship an image of an animal, or creeping thing. We are to educate and wise to indulge in this archaic practice. We are the most educated society in the history of the world. We no longer hold to the superstitions of the past.  If we are to worship anyone or anything it is ourselves. For the first time in human history, we have the ability to choose our own path. We can accomplish anything we desire. Isn’t that the mantra of our society? Reach for as much education as you can and it will open the doors to the highest levels of personal achievement. Education is the panacea of man. It will resolve all of man’s problems. For this reason, we no longer need or desire to pursue any God.

The most educated and technically advanced civilization of all time has been impotent in decreasing the evil of man.  Never in the annals of history have more babies been murdered than we have in this age of enlightenment. Wars litter our planet with corpses of the innocent. Every attempt at a solution to the world’s problems fail. It is not the uneducated that have lead us down this path. It is the educated that have dominated the leadership the world.

We have exchanged the immortal God for the flawed God of self-reliance. The evidence of past and present leadership has fulfilled this verse. It is not that these educated leaders don’t know of God. It’s that they deny Him.  We have discarded the wisdom of God for the fallacy of man and called it wisdom. How much longer will we pursue the ineptitude of humanity to provide salvation for itself?

No single person or government will ever be able to comprehend the complexities of the human condition. This inability condemns us to the repeated failure of leadership. It is not a lack of education, vision or passion that fails us. Only the God of creation has the capacity to see it all and provide for us all. Unless we return to the God of creation. We will never see peace.

Number Our Days

Something to think about.

Number Our Days

12 So teach us to number our days

that we may get a heart of wisdom. Psalms 90:12

Do you know when you will die? Obviously, the answer to that question is unknown. So this verse at first glance may not make sense. What would be the point in numbering our days? As I get older and realize there are fewer days in front of me than those behind. I now understand this verse.  The point of this verse is to remind us that our days are numbered that our life has an expiration date. From that knowledge, we can then set out to live a life of value, joy, and purpose. Wisdom in this sense refers to making your life count for you, not anyone else, you. Are you living a life of joy, meaning, purpose? It is your life and your days are numbered.

Walk With the Wise

Something to think about.

Walk With the Wise

20 Walk with the wise and become wise,

for a companion of fools suffers harm. Proverbs 13:20

This appears to be a pretty simple proverb. Associate with wise people, and you will acquire wisdom. That is what it means if you take it at face value. The book Proverbs speaks of wisdom, but it refers to wisdom dispensed by God to man. Yes, wisdom is shared by man but true wisdom comes from our infallible God. So if you want the wisdom of God, seek out those that have received the wisdom of God that you to may receive and declared that which is wise.

Walking In Wisdom

Walking in Wisdom

20 Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm. Proverbs 14:20

If you associate with people who are in opposition to God, they will bring you harm.  Righteous wisdom is only given to those who are in submission to the will of God.  Worldly wisdom leads to worldly solutions that lead to worldly problems. Outside the will of God, all human wisdom will give rise to another problem never a solution. That’s why we continue to repeat the same mistakes over and over and over again. Associate with people who are seeking and doing the will of God and wisdom will knock you down.

No Human Wisdom

Something to think about.
No Human Wisdom
“No human wisdom or understanding or plan can stand against the LORD.”
Proverbs 21:30 NLT

Believe in Him, deny Him, lie about Him rationalize or intellectualize Him away, there will never be anything in the mind of man that will stop or alter the plan of God.  He is in control He always has been and always will be. His will, will prevail and your permission understanding or contribution is not required nor will you be consulted.

Spirit and Power

Something to think about.

Spirit and Power

And I, when I came to you, brothers, did not come proclaiming to you the testimony of God with lofty speech or wisdom. For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. And I was with you in weakness and in fear and much trembling, and my speech and my message were not in plausible words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, so that your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.

“Demonstration of the Spirit and of power,” we have devised a plethora of ways to share the gospel, which is good. But where is the “demonstration of the Spirit and of power”? Our gospel must be infused with the Spirit of God and the power of God, or it is not the Gospel of God.

Spirit of Wisdom

Spirit of wisdom

16 I do not cease to give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers, 17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him, 18 having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, Ephesians 1:16-17

Paul is praying that we would receive the spirit of wisdom and revelation so we can understand what our hope in Christ is and what we have to look forward to. He wants us to know intimately what God has prepared for us.  Not figuratively but through unmovable belief, we should expect the fulfillment of the inheritance we have already received and will forever continue to receive. He is praying that through the spirit of wisdom and knowledge we become aware of the immovability of the hope and the promise of life in Christ. This life and promise is undeniable and is secure in God Himself.
