Repent Revival

Something to think about.

Repent Revival

17 From that time on Jesus began to preach, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.” Mathew 4:17

I have repented. Yes, I’m still working on it. I am still in the process of receiving all that is associated with repentance. This commandment of Christ still haunts me. It rattles me to my core because it is still a valid call. There are those around me that have not repented. I am not talking about those in Hollywood or in politics or business. Nor any other group of people, I am talking about my brother, sisters, nieces, nephews in short my family. There is an entire world living all around me that have not repented that have not accepted Christ. I pray for revival in this country, state, and city. I need to start praying for revival in my family.  Is it possible that we have not seen a great revival in this country because we are praying for someone else? The next great revival needs to begin at home. The great field of harvest is not in some far away city or country. It is within our homes. With the people, we break bread with. With those that will no longer listen to our message. If they won’t listen how can we reach them? We need to pray for them. We need to stand in the gap for them. What that means is we need to chase after God on their behave. We need to cry out to God for their salvation. We need to get into the battle for their souls. They may not listen to us, but God has the resources to reach them He has the means to touch their hearts.

Have we given up on our families? Have we written them off as unreachable, unworthy, hopeless unforgivable? Have we become blase about their eternal destination. Have we accepted them as a lost cause? Have we turned them over to eternal death? If we are to see revival it needs to start at home. If we have written off our families do you really think we will care about the lost of the world? This is a call to action to pray for your family to begin a revival in your home.

Encouraging One Another

Something to think about.

Encouraging One Another

23 Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, 25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching. Hebrews 10:23-25

We’ve all heard it, I don’t have to go to church to be a Christian. Why then did God institute corporate gatherings? In the old and new testaments, the people gathered together at predetermined times to be taught, educated, and uplifted in the word and ways of God.  We were not created to be spiritual isolationist. We were designed to be bound together in love for our God.  Not even in Christ did we see the totality of God. We need each other to stay faithful to be educated and grow. To reach the purpose God has provided for us. We were made to help each other along the path of life. Without each other, we will end up creating a path that will not lead us to Christ, salvation or joy. We will end up lost.

Yes

Something to think about.

Yes

Then the Lord said to Cain, “Where is Abel your brother?” He said, “I do not know; am I my brother’s keeper?”Genesis 4:9
God never answers Cain’s question. I speculate He didn’t because the answer was self-evident. Yes, he was his brother’s keeper. That question is a question that we as a species should be asking each other. Are we our brother’s keeper? The answer is yes, we are. It has always been yes. If we were our brother’s keeper would we kill each other? If we cared for one another would we hate each other? If we took responsibility for each other would the world be a better place?

After Cain murdered his brother God cursed Him and the rest of humanity. The question I have for you is, did God curse Cain because he killed his brother or did He curse him because he was not his brother’s keeper? You do realize that if he had been his brother’s keeper, he never would have murdered him.

Doing Good

Something to think about.

Doing Good

Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith. Galatians 6:10

Are we taking care of our own? Are we so involved in helping the world that we don’t take the time to refresh and edify each other?  In these divisive times, we need to do all we can to hold each other up, to support each other and care for one other. None of us is an island unto ourselves, we were designed with community in mind.  We will be better able to stand the attacks of the enemy if we stand together. Reach out to the world as a neighbor but support your fellow believer as a brother or sister as that is what we are, family.
